The Ubbink Ventus 160/150mm Pitched Roof Ventilation Terminal is a high-performance insulated roof terminal designed for modern ventilation systems in residential and small commercial buildings. Developed particularly for heat recovery and MVHR installations, it provides an efficient route for either supply or extract air through a pitched roof while helping minimise pressure loss within the ventilation system.
Suitable for both air supply and extraction, the Ventus provides considerably more flexibility than a terminal designed exclusively for one airflow direction. It can be incorporated into mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems as well as a range of other ventilation applications requiring a weather-resistant roof termination.
The terminal is designed primarily for connection to 160mm insulated ductwork and can also accommodate 150mm ducting using the appropriate adaptor. This makes it suitable for commonly used ventilation duct sizes while allowing it to integrate with Ubbink Aerfoam insulated ducting systems.
One of the key benefits of the Ventus design is its optimised airflow performance. Reducing resistance and pressure loss at the roof termination helps the ventilation system move air more efficiently, supporting effective airflow while reducing unnecessary demand on the ventilation unit.
Installation has also been carefully considered. Rather than requiring the duct to follow the pitch of the roof, the Ventus uses a perpendicular roof penetration. This creates a more straightforward route through the roof structure and can simplify connection to the ventilation ductwork below.
The terminal is designed for pitched roofs with angles between 15° and 55°, covering a broad range of typical residential roof pitches.
An integrated 600 x 600mm Ubiflex Standard flashing provides the interface between the terminal and roof covering. The flexible flashing is designed to create a reliable installation across suitable pitched roof applications while reducing the need to assemble a roof terminal and flashing separately.
Weather protection is particularly important for any ventilation opening positioned directly on a roof. The Ventus uses a raised air outlet together with an intelligent drainage design to help prevent rain and snow from entering the ventilation system.
The terminal itself is insulated, making it particularly suitable for modern heat recovery ventilation installations where insulated ductwork is used to help control heat loss and condensation.
Finished in black, the Ventus has a clean, unobtrusive appearance once installed. The terminal extends approximately 415mm above the roof, while its complete overall height is 1065mm.
