At an impressive 120cm wide, the SP16 has a panoramic design that makes the flame display a prominent feature in the room, while its black chassis and dark grey metal frame give it a clean, modern appearance.
Dimplex's Optiflame flame effect uses LED lighting to illuminate a realistic log-effect fuel bed, creating the atmosphere of a traditional fire without real flames, fuel or a chimney. The flame effect can be operated independently of the heater, allowing you to enjoy the visual effect throughout the year, including warmer months when additional heating isn't required.
When warmth is needed, a concealed 2kW fan heater provides two selectable heat settings of 1kW and 2kW. A variable thermostat allows the heat output to be regulated according to the room temperature, making the SP16 useful for providing supplementary warmth as well as creating an attractive fireplace feature.
A supplied remote control allows convenient operation from across the room, while controls located at the base of the fire provide an alternative way to operate the unit. A CR2032 battery for the remote is also included.
One of the SP16's most useful design features is its installation flexibility. It can be mounted directly onto a wall, or the chassis can be recessed into the wall for a more integrated, streamlined appearance. This makes it particularly suitable for contemporary living rooms and modern fireplace installations where a traditional inset fire isn't required.
Measuring 525mm high, 1200mm wide and 182mm deep, the Dimplex SP16 is intentionally wider than many conventional electric fires, giving the Optiflame display plenty of visual impact. A built-in safety cut-out provides additional protection during operation.
