Description
The Dimplex OMWFC20E Optimyst Wall Fire Chassis is a wall-mounted electric fire engine designed to be combined with a compatible Dimplex decorative front. It provides the core flame and heating technology for creating a distinctive wall-mounted fireplace, combining Dimplex's highly realistic Optimyst flame effect with up to 2kW of supplementary heating.
At the heart of the OMWFC20E is Dimplex Optimyst technology. Rather than relying solely on conventional lighting or projected imagery, Optimyst uses an ultra-fine water mist illuminated by light to create the illusion of three-dimensional flames and rising smoke.
The moving mist passes through the log-effect fuel bed and catches the light to produce a remarkably realistic fireplace effect with natural variation and depth. Because real water vapour is used, the flames appear to move freely around the logs rather than remaining confined to a flat screen.
A 1.1-litre refillable water tank supplies the Optimyst system. Filtered water should be used to maintain optimum performance, particularly in hard-water areas, and the water tank and associated Optimyst components should be cleaned regularly in accordance with Dimplex's instructions.
The flame effect can be operated independently of the heater, allowing the visual effect to be enjoyed throughout the year without producing additional room heat.
When warmth is required, the integrated fan heater provides two selectable heat settings of approximately 1kW and 2kW. A variable thermostat helps maintain the desired room temperature by regulating heater operation rather than requiring it to run continuously.
A seven-day programmable timer provides additional control over the heating schedule, allowing the fire's heating operation to be better matched to your routine.
The supplied remote control provides convenient operation from across the room, while controls on the appliance itself offer direct access when required.
Unlike a complete standalone electric fire, the OMWFC20E is specifically a wall-fire chassis. It is intended to be used with a compatible Dimplex decorative front, giving greater flexibility when creating the finished fireplace appearance.
