The Dimplex Dumfries is a stylish inset electric fire combining a traditional fireplace format with Dimplex's advanced Optiflame 3D technology. Finished in classic black and supplied with three interchangeable fuel-bed options, it provides a highly customisable fireplace effect together with up to 2kW of supplementary heating.
Optiflame 3D takes Dimplex's established flame technology further by combining LED lighting, adjustable flame colours and illuminated fuel-bed effects to create additional depth and movement. You can introduce cooler blue tones or select a warmer orange glow, allowing the appearance of the fire to be adapted to suit your room and mood.
Flame intensity can also be adjusted between low, medium, high and pulsating settings. Adjustable downlighting provides another layer of customisation, illuminating the fuel bed and helping create a richer, more dimensional fireplace effect.
The Dumfries is supplied with three different fuel-bed options: traditional coals, realistic logs and contemporary crystals. This allows you to change the character of the fireplace without replacing the fire itself, whether you prefer a classic coal-fire appearance, a natural log effect or a more modern illuminated crystal display.
The flame effect can operate independently of the heater, allowing you to enjoy the visual ambience of the Dumfries throughout the year without adding heat to the room.
When additional warmth is required, the integrated fan heater provides two selectable heat levels of 1kW and 2kW. A variable thermostat helps maintain a comfortable room temperature rather than requiring the heater to operate continuously at full output.
Both heating and flame settings can be operated using the supplied remote control, while manual controls are conveniently positioned beneath the fire's canopy.
The Dumfries is primarily designed as an inset electric fire and can be fitted into a suitable existing fireplace opening. This makes it a practical option for replacing an older electric fire or converting an unused traditional fireplace to convenient electric operation.
For homes without a suitable recess, Dimplex also offers a compatible spacer kit that allows the Dumfries to be installed in a freestanding configuration against a suitable surface.
Measuring 613mm high and 517mm wide, the fire creates a substantial fireplace focal point without requiring the extensive building work associated with a built-in landscape fire or media wall.
