By drawing steam, grease and cooking odours downwards directly from the hob, it removes the need for a conventional overhead cooker hood and opens up greater freedom when designing your kitchen.
This makes the BVH83BK particularly well suited to kitchen islands and open-plan spaces, where an overhead extractor can interrupt sightlines or dominate the room. The integrated ventilation system is positioned discreetly in the centre of the black glass hob, creating a streamlined cooking area with extraction exactly where it is needed.
Four full Flexi induction cooking zones provide excellent versatility for everyday cooking. The flexible zones can be bridged together to accommodate larger cookware, making the hob suitable for everything from individual saucepans and frying pans to larger griddles and roasting dishes.
Induction technology heats compatible cookware directly rather than heating the entire surrounding hob surface. This provides rapid response when increasing or reducing the heat and gives you precise control whether you're gently simmering a sauce, boiling water or searing at a high temperature.
Responsive touch slider controls allow you to adjust the cooking zones quickly and precisely across nine power levels. A boost function provides additional power when rapid heating is required, helping bring large pans of water to temperature more quickly.
At the centre of the hob, the integrated downdraft ventilation system delivers a maximum airflow of up to 650m³/h. Auto Extract operation allows the hob and ventilation system to work together, automatically adapting extraction performance according to your cooking activity. This means you can concentrate on cooking without continually adjusting the extractor manually.
The extraction system includes a cast iron air inlet and a practical spillage collector cup designed to deal with accidental liquid spills around the central vent. Grease filtration helps capture airborne cooking residue, while charcoal filtration helps reduce unwanted cooking odours when the system is configured for recirculation.
Four charcoal filters are supplied, providing two sets with approximately 300 hours of usage per set. A filter change indicator lets you know when attention is required, helping maintain effective ventilation performance over time.
Safety features include a child safety lock to help prevent unintended operation, along with residual heat indicators that warn when areas of the hob remain hot after cooking.
