dimplex-scala-22-inch-electric-fire-black-nickel-sca22bn
Dimplex Scala 22 Inch 2kW Optiflame Inset Electric Fire Black Nickel | SCA22BN

The Dimplex Scala 22 Inch Optiflame Electric Fire is a wide-format inset fire designed to create a more substantial fireplace feature while retaining the convenience and simplicity of electric heating. Finished in sophisticated Black Nickel, its broader 22-inch fascia gives the Scala greater visual presence than a conventional 16-inch inset fire, making it an excellent choice for larger fireplace surrounds.

Despite its wider appearance, the Scala 22 is designed to work with a standard 16-inch fireplace back-panel opening. This makes it particularly useful when upgrading an existing fireplace where you want a wider, more contemporary look without necessarily altering the existing opening.

At the heart of the Scala is Dimplex's Optiflame technology. The LED flame effect creates realistic flickering flames above an illuminated log-effect fuel bed, bringing the appearance of a traditional fire into the room without the maintenance associated with solid fuel or gas.

The flame display can be customised with multiple flame themes and adjustable brightness settings, allowing the appearance to be changed to suit the room and occasion. Ambient downlighting adds further depth to the fuel bed and flame display.

Importantly, the Optiflame effect can operate independently of the heater. This means the Scala can remain a focal point throughout the year, providing fireplace ambience during warmer months without producing unwanted heat. The flame effect consumes only around 13W according to Dimplex's current retail specification.

When additional warmth is required, the integrated fan heater provides two selectable heat settings with a maximum marketed output of 2kW. Electronic thermostatic control helps maintain the selected room temperature rather than requiring the heater to operate continuously.

An 8-hour timer provides additional convenience, while the supplied remote control allows the flame effect, ambient lighting and heating to be adjusted without approaching the fire. Manual controls are also provided directly on the appliance.

The Scala is primarily designed for inset installation, but Dimplex also offers an optional spacer kit. This allows the fire to be installed against a suitable flat wall or within a fireplace surround where sufficient recess depth isn't available.

With its wider 22-inch frontage, Black Nickel finish, realistic log fuel bed and highly customisable Optiflame display, the Dimplex Scala SCA22BN offers an attractive way to modernise an existing fireplace while retaining the practical benefits of thermostatically controlled electric heating.

Key Features

Dimplex Scala 22 Inch Electric Fire

Wide-format inset electric fire

Black Nickel finish

22-inch fascia for greater fireplace presence

Designed to fit a standard 16-inch fireplace back-panel opening

Optiflame flame technology

Realistic flickering flame effect

Customisable flame display

Multiple flame themes

Adjustable flame brightness

Ambient lighting

Downlighting effect

Realistic log-effect fuel bed

Energy-efficient LED lighting

Flame effect operates independently of heat

Ideal for year-round fireplace ambience

Approximately 13W marketed flame-effect consumption

Up to 2kW marketed heat output

2 selectable heat settings

Approximately 1kW and 2kW settings

Fan-assisted electric heating

Electronic room-temperature control

Thermostat

8-hour timer

Remote control included

Manual controls

Controls positioned on upper-left side

Safety cut-out

No working chimney or flue required

Optional spacer kit available separately

Spacer allows installation where inset depth is unavailable

Optional spacer: OSP010

Optional spacer product number: 500004900

230–240V / 50Hz

1.5m power cable

Dimensions: H 619 x W 684 x D 197mm

Inset engine depth: 79mm

Weight: 14.7kg

2-year warranty

Model: SCA22BN

Product number: 500004363

EAN: 5011139089373

What's in the Box

Dimplex Scala 22 Inch Optiflame Inset Electric Fire Black Nickel

Log-effect fuel bed

Remote control

CR2032 remote-control battery

1.5m power cable

Installation and operating documentation

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0952/4438/6690/files/electrocity.ie-buy-dimplex-scala-22-inch-inset-electric-fire-with-optiflame-black-nickel-sca22bn-online-1.jpg?v=1789646571
